Introducing Myself
Hi, my name is Marvin J. Sánchez Garache and I am from Nicaragua. I obtained my engineer in electronic degree from the National University of Engineering of Nicaragua (UNI) in 1995. My thesis was completed while working for the Telecommunication department at UNI in remote sensing through packet radio networks. This work have given me experience in both software and hardware design as well as practical skills in radio communications. I have worked as a lecturer of digital and analog communications at UNI since 1995. Since 1996 I have got involved in a sandwich program sponsored by SIDA (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) and I have become a part time Ph.D. student of the Radio Communication Systems group, department of Signals, Sensors, and Systems at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). As part of this program I visit KTH 3 to 4 months per year to work on research in "Ah hoc Wireless Networks" and received education on Wireless Network issues; the rest of my time I teach at UNI.

Working Projects
Wireless UNI Network (WUNet)
WUNET aims to provide communications where no communications exist due to remoteness and poverty. Consequently all solutions must be extremely inexpensive. The project will concentrate on data communications with user friendly self-organizing terminals. WUNet is an experimental project with the main output being graduates qualified in radio design, HowTos, feedback to research effort of the Electrical and Computing Faculty (FEC) of UNI.
Remote
Sensing Using Packet Radio Networks
Packet Radio networks are suitable solutions to provide data transmissions in rural applications. The aim of this project is to develop hardware and software to supervise physical variables like deep water level, temperature, wind speed and direction as well as seismic activity to help in the prevention of natural disasters.
